Mens graphic T-Shirts

January 27th, 2010

The good old combination of t-shirt and jeans is still going strong today, the difference is we are taking more pride in our appearance and men are getting more picky when it comes to t-shirts.

Plain is boring and the big sellers at the moment are fuky, fitted graphic t-shirts. While theres about a million different designs to choose from it can be quite hard to get it right, not every design or print suits every guy.

Bench and Henleys have always been up there with bold prints and designs, the tee’s are very casual and something you would generally wear round the house or to the shops. If you’re looking for something a bit more formal but don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard then a Lyle and Scott polo t shirt is the answer! Paired with a fresh pair of mens g-star jeans you can’t go wrong. Lyle and Scott are becoming increasingly popular yet they still managed to maintain their luxusy brand image and not become a chavs favourite like burberry did a few years back.

So if you’re looking for something uber casual that won’t break the bank it has to be all about printed tee’s from G-Star, Bench or Henleys. If you want to look a little effortlessly stylish then Lyle ad Scott are the way forward.

Which cut of jeans to buy

January 14th, 2010

Denim has become a staple of everyones wardrobe lately and it’s someone that everyone wears. In recent years we are seeing more and more outfits paired with a pair of denim jeans, even on nights out girls are opting for denim jeans over dresses. This has spurred an immense number of fits and cuts to suit everyone and every out fit, because of this it can be a little tricky knowing which cut or fit is right for you. The most popular cut of jeans for men are:

Boot Cut – (also known as Bootleg) This is where the jean is fitted round the knee and then gets slightly wider towards the bottom to accomodate the bulk of a boot.

Skinny Jeans – Originally just an option for women but now widley available for men. Very fitted jeans which usually taper towards the bottom and cling to the leg.

Wide Leg – Wide leg jeans are as the name suggests, the legs are wider than usually and stay the same width from the top of the leg to the bottom.

When buying jeans it’s important to make sure you get the right cut for you, different fits and cuts do make all the difference. Brands such as G-Star offer a variety of cuts and often mens g-star jeans are the most popular choice for young men in the denim stakes these days.

G-Star Clothing

December 17th, 2009

G-Star was established in 1989 and combined the purity of raw denim with rugged work-wear to make their clothing more practical and durable, something which later went on the define the brand and identity of G-Star. Today G-Star as a brand has over 150 stores.

The philosophy behind the brand has always been to never compromise. This philosophy comes through more and more as they unveil new products, specifically the ones launched at the New York Fashion Week. These one off pieces push the designers a G-Star to their limits to keep coming up with the inspirational denim products that they are known for.

During 2009 G-Star aims to bring back the iconic denim jacket, but as always, with a G-Star twist. The brief is retro meets the modern man with sharp and edgy tailoring reminiscent of a 1960’s Paris. Furthermore the brand is focussing on new silhouettes adding a new dimension to the range. Not forgetting the all new Bronco themed line, a rugged, outdoor influenced product line that takes its inspiration from the natural world, Canadian loggers and a military battlefield. That’s certainly an impressive design brief!

Continuing to grow and expand G-Star is now an international brand that carries high prestige and is one of the fastest growing brands in the UK, with its new product range on the horizon it’s going to be an exciting time for mens G Star Jeans.

Dressing for winter

December 17th, 2009

I love dressing in Winter more than I do in summer. Layering accessories such as scarves, hats, gloves a much greater variation can be achieved. Lets face it, hot summer days are all good if you’re laying on  beach somewhere but for everyday life having someones sweaty ampits shoved in your face on the commute to and from work while sweating buckets the whole day isn’t very glamorous.

There’s something about winter that just makes me feel special and this is reflected by the way I dress.

Personally I preffer wearing jumpers anyway so winter is a great time for me to show off my collection, lyle and scott jumpers are one of my favourites and of course jackets are a big part of my wardrobe. As far as outerwear at the moment G-Star jackets are really in fashion at the moment.

The only thing to keep in mind during the winter months is to not over-do the layering, some people get carried away and it’s quite easy to do so. Keep it simple and mix in a variation of colours, otherwise the outfit may look too bland and boring!
